Joyful and Desperately Poor?

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. ” Romans 8:28

I was listening to a story of how a group of people became very, very poor. The story described them as "desperately poor". While I was listening to the story, the writer described that this fiery trial brought out something unique and unexpected- people overflowed with joy! It made me think to myself, when I am tested with a fiery trial, what does the pressure produce out of me?

I'm not going to lie, I have not always had the best attitude when under trial, ESPECIALLY not having money. What I realize now is that sometimes death happens before life can spring forth. Do you have the mindset that God is and will work it out despite of how you feel?

Trials have a way of exposing what can be hidden for a long time until the right trigger happens. Especially when you don't know what to do and have to trust God in all the spaces. These people who were desperately poor still gave their all to God and others who were in the same situation, not knowing exactly HOW this would work out. But they were so endowed with joy that it didn't matter. This kind of joy can only come from the Lord in my opinion! That same joy allowed them to see properly, give more than what they had, and trust that God was working it out.

Some of us are not used to responding this way when things are not going as planned, but it will be in our best interest to know that these things are going to work out. Some way somehow, it will work together for our GOOD because God is good.

I can picture God being like you need this trial to get this revelation. Otherwise, you will not get the wisdom I have promised you for the times ahead. Let us practice joy and the abundance mindset that says these opportunities will birth something new.

Can you choose to focus on the assets, not the deficits? Can you allow joy to spring forth? Here is a list of verses on joy to carry with you!
