Okay you guys, I've shared on my platform before about my journey with secular music. Most recently, the Holy Spirit revealed to me through a dream the spirits that were behind some of the songs I've held near and dear to my heart. If you haven't seen my video, watch it here that changed my perspective.
After this revelation, I am now VERY cautious of my ear and eye gate more than ever, but that didn't change the love I have for R&B music. I’m a Jazmine Sullivan, Tank-loving, No Diggity type of girl through and through, and I've looked up at God like "please send help!". Well, just like the great Father He is, He delivered on my request for good clean, Holy Spirit-influenced music. I feel like I hit the jackpot when I discovered Franchescamakesmusic while making content for my “GRWM” video. When I sat down and listened to her song “Created For This” that I used, the words jumped out at me. It was honestly like the Holy Spirit grabbed the microphone and started singing, “I was created for this, yeah I been waiting on this, I, taking my shot I won't miss taking my shot it's gone swish, I”. It was like He was affirming me and letting me know that I was created for such a time as this.
In the past I allowed people and religion to dictate how I would show up in the world. My creative expression through fashion and my hair would often be criticized. My love for beauty, fashion, and uniquely styling clothes was shut down because I believed the lies of the enemy. But in 2024, I felt the nudge to pick it back up, not knowing that the Lord would lead me to this music. If I had stayed in the box I was putting myself and God in, I don't think I would have found that song.
Of course, I had to go and find more of her music because this was not only filling my R&B cup, the Holy Spirit was on it! As I searched for more, I learned some of her testimony of being a former stripper, broken and needing a change. You know I love a good redemption story because I know where God has brought me from, so I was sold. She’s big on family and womanhood, which is another passion of mine as well. At this point Franchesca we are cousins. In all seriousness, testimonies make the connection to the artist so much stronger and relatable, and that’s what's missing today in our culture full of perfect Instagram people. I enjoy hearing how God has redeemed people because it brings hope for the lost.

Franchesca, thank you for sharing your story and journey with the world. Your music is an answered prayer and I hope you see the power working through you to bring people closer to Christ. I pray that you continue to pursue Christ and His love and remain pure. I pray His power does infinitely more than you can ask or think in this lifetime. You are a true gem and you got a fan in me! I hope to meet you in person one day!
